This is a really great idea. Pontoon style boats are the perfect kind of thing for electric because those kinds of boats don’t go very far and they spend a lot of time in between trips sitting at the dock (where they can be charging). I wonder how good electric would be for bass boats? Being sneaky would be good right?

This would be great for people like myself that live 20 minutes from the lake, and like to spend the day out on the water. I really don't need the extra maintenance of an ICE boat that would only be getting a few dozen hours of use per year.

those are all
independent Marinerizing companies that use gm blocks. mercruiser, as an example is starting to move away from gm blocks to their own designs

Except that the ICE motor itself only represents a fraction of the maintenance and upkeep on a boat. The other 60-75% of the work is still there on something like this, and it tops out at 20mph. That 10 hour range is probably achieved at just above trolling speed...

My thoughts exactly

As long as it had a reliable range calculator, I'd be good... we'd just be toodling around the lake. Just gotta have enough juice to get back to the ramp! Then it can charge for a week, and I wouldn't have to keep track of obscure gas stations that sell ethanol-free gasoline.
